A Good Night

We added a type of Vicadin to Nina's meds last night. The vicadin with the Atavan was definitely the right combination because she got more rest than she has in almost 4 days!! She insisted on having Todd cuddle with her again and having me and Yvonne nearby :) She must have woken up a handful of times, but for mere seconds and then she would return to sleep. Her breathing is much calmer too!!! I doubt Todd or Yvonne got much rest because I heard them tossing and turning all night, but I did. I literally passed out around midnight. Yvonne practically had to tuck me in. I feel refreshed, amazing what more than a handful of hours of sleep can do for you :)

My prayer is that Nina responds to the increased steroids and the new medication. All of our family is coming in this weekend to celebrate her birthday!!! She has been looking forward to her birthday for months!!! And we have SpongeBob and Patrick decorations piled high!!!

To all the thousands who are praying for our honey girl, please continue to pray for healing but also pray that Nina gets the joy of being happy and peaceful as she is surrounded by her family and we celebrate the miracle that her life is!!!!

  3. I have been reading your blog for the last couple of months. I am praying for you and your family. I am very encouraged by your strength, as I am walking along side my mom who has breast cancer. This world is a sad, sad place. The only comfort we have is knowing that one day we will be in a better place, where there is no more suffering, no more tears and no more cancer! My prayer is that the God of all comfort will surround your family, to bring peace and healing.

  4. Dear Rosy,
I am sure that you have heard the Christy Nockels song, "Healing Is In Your Hands". Whenever I listen to it, I pray for you all with all of my heart and cry out to the Lord to shower every form of His mercy upon you and your dear honey girl.

  8. Hi! I just read about this blog on Kerry Rocha's FB page. As a parent who has lost a child, my heart goes out to your family. I just wondered if you have heard of a Dr. at John's Hopkins - Dr. Ben Carson, director of pediatric neurosurgery. He's done some terrific things, thought I'd toss it out there for what it's worth. God Bless.

  9. Rosey- I pray for you all everyday. Happy Birthday to sweet Nina.

This a a prayer we say at temple (I am Jewish), and I think about this blessing/ song all the time, and say i for Nina. The English translation is just a few lines after each line of Hebrew.

    Mi shebeirach avoteinu
    M'kor hab'racha l'imoteinu
    May the source of strength,
Who blessed the ones before us,
Help us find the courage to make our lives a blessing,
    and let us say, Amen.

    Mi shebeirach imoteinu
    M'kor habrachah l'avoteinu

Bless those in need of healing with r'fuah sh'leimah,
The renewal of body, the renewal of spirit,
    And let us say, Amen
