Update

Monday December 20, 2010

Nina is doing marvelous!! She is so incredibly strong! It really is a miracle! She has had 3 intravenous Avastin treatments and 2 Timador treatments. With each of these chemo treatments the biggest side effects have been headaches and some dizziness. We are so thankful!!!

Overall, she is much more energetic than last month. Her attitude, personality, and cognitive capacity is totally back. We spend our days playing games, doing activities, playing Wii and planning out meals. She and Teddy are getting along extremely well. He is being so incredibly sweet to her! It melts our hearts!! The only drawback with her increased strength is that she is also going through a heightened state of awareness pertaining to her illness. She recognizes that she is different and she laments it on a daily basis! It breaks my heart!!!

I've included a video below from last night where she is being totally sassy. Prior to the diagnosis I would have never let her speak to me this way without a consequence but now....now I just savour the sassiness and try to turn it around. I especially love when she scowls and points with indignation!! How funny!!

In conclusion, we are soooo incredibly grateful for the gifts we are being given and we just ask that everyone around the world continues to pray for our Nina!!

  1. You don't know me but I stumbled across your blog when it was linked from the praying for daisy blog. I spent much of Saturday and Sunday night reading and praying for your little girl, your raw honesty and strength in the face of unspeakable terror just amazes me. Hang in there, keep fighting and I will keep praying that you get your miracle!
